When school resumes this fall, even with buildings closed, the need for the PEF is likely to be greater than ever.

A new partnership with Stormans, Inc., allowed us to distribute 630 vouchers – totaling more than $32,000 – to families, many of whom lost jobs because of COVID-19, between March and June. Additionally, principals utilized more than $56,000 to assist families with rent, emergency housing, utilities, medical expenses, clothing, and so much more.

While 2020 has been an incredibly challenging year, the work the Olympia School District Education Foundation has done to support students with urgent basic needs has been incredible.

The Principal’s Emergency Fund (PEF) served as a vital lifeline to more families than ever this school year.
